Wedding Fitness FAQ
..Runaway Brides answers your Wedding Fitness Questions..

It's true that planning a wedding can take over every aspect of your daily life. There is just so much to do to achieve that perfect day. Despite this it's important not to lose sight of the importance of regular exercise. If anything you need to stay fit and healthy to be able to survive this stressful time.
Schedule regular exercise sessions and make them an integral part of your week. Put exercise in your diary as you would work or appointments. Better still incorporate exercise with your wedding planning by working out with your bridal party or fiance.

It's unachievable to start a fitness plan a month out of your wedding. To achieve that glow from inside and out you require a good three to six months to achieve real and long lasting results. So START EARLY! Looking fit and fabulous requires a routine of regular exercise and a good, balanced diet. A mixture of cardio and resistance work, along with the support of loved ones around you, will help you look your best for your wedding day!

Runaway Brides recommend at least 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise three to four times a week and 20 - 30 minutes of strength training two to three times a week. Group or Personal Training is a great way of getting you started and keeping your fitness regime on track. Such training challenges you whilst supporting and motivating you at the same time. It's VITAL to combine your fitness regime with a healthy, nutritious eating plan. Choose a diet high in protein (such as lean meats and legumes) and low in saturated fat (such as butter, chocolate and fast foods). Increase your fruit and vegetable intake and drink fluids. Cut down on salt, alcohol, coffee, fried food, white bread and white rice and opt for brown varieties instead. Also adopt smaller portions. Drink lots of water!
It's important to follow a balanced, nutritional plan. NEVER starve yourself or skip meals to fit into that dress. Runaway Brides suggests you enjoy three nutritional meals a day with light snacks on hand to keep up those energy levels.

Set realistic goals! Don't put yourself under unnecessary pressure to reach an unrealistic weight goal. Runaway Brides promote adopting a healthy, long term weight loss and fitness plan. This plan will definitely provide you with that healthy glow on your wedding day.
Enlist the support if your brides maids, fiance, friends or even your Mum. Have them exercise with you or support you from the side lines.
Start early! We can not stress this enough. Give yourself time to achieve those goals.
Engage in Personal or Group Training. There is nothing quite like it to support and motivate you.
